Springfield is located in southwestern Minnesota on Highway 14, the Laura Ingalls Wilder Memorial Highway, approximately 120 miles southwest of the Twin Cities.  Enjoy what we have to offer – beautiful parks, a 9 hole golf course, campground, disc golf course, swimming pool, go-kart track, biking and walking trails, the Little Cottonwood River, bowling alley, the Sod House, local historical society museum, public library, shopping opportunities and the hospitality of our motel and restaurants.

Our annual community events include:

Riverside Days.  A three day celebration held the last full weekend in June.  Events include the pork chop feed, pancake breakfast, car wash, kid’s carnival, street dance, kiddie parade, 5K run/walk, pie/ice cream social, bean bag tournament, Legion and Town Team baseball games, volleyball tournament, SAL food stand and beer garden, classic car show and grand parade.

Nativity Pageant.  Held on Friday and Saturday nights the second week in December at Riverside Park, local volunteers perform the Christmas story, featuring a live manger scene with camels, under the stars in Riverside Park.  Free admission with seating in the north bleachers.  The pageant is 40 minutes.  To watch a short video of the Pageant, please click HERE.
