On September 22, 2016 at about 3:33 pm, the Springfield Police Department took a report that a child walking home from school was being followed by a suspicious vehicle described as an older full size White Van, long rear rectangle windows, dark side & rear tinted windows, and yellowish rust along the doors and wheel well.

We would also encourage parents to talk with their children about what to do if they are approached or being followed by a strangers in a vehicle, how to call 911, and to identify adults around their neighborhood and along their walking route home that they know and can trust to help them if necessary.
